Your Happy Place

So what exactly is your happy place? It is one of the most important mood enhancers and sensory perception inner experiences that creates a powerful and quick shift in your emotions and general state of mind and well-being.

Your “happy place” is created from a past memory when you were in a beautiful natural setting in which you were feeling peaceful, happy and energetic. Utilizing a series of steps that are outlined below you actually visit this past experience and awaken your senses to remember and then embrace all the pleasant feelings that this special experience elicited for you. You can then bring your “happy place” feeling into the present moment where you will experience the same feelings in the NOW, your present moment reality.  

 

 A Focused Meditation for Creating Your Happy Place

  1. Find a comfortable position in a quiet place if possible.
  2. Take all of your thoughts and place them in a beautiful box and place that box on a shelf where they are safe and release them completely.. your mind is clear and deeply relaxed.
  3.  Imagine yourself as a strong healthy tree. Now, send down your roots deep into the earth and connect with the heart center of Mother Earth.. you will feel connected, safe and at peace.
  4.  Relax and take a deep breath into your heart. As you exhale notice a color that your heart welcomes in this day.. (suggested color is Green).Take another deep breathe and fill your heart with this color and then allow it to expand as you exhale.. take a moment to celebrate your open heart and feel it filled with color and unconditional love.
  5. Now send a ribbon of warm liquid light into your third eye/wisdom chakra (it is located right between your eyebrows) Feel this connection to your heart.
  6. Bring this connection and feeling into your third eye as you relax and release any tension in your physical eyes, behind your physical eyes or anywhere else you might feel any tension, making sure to check the back of your neck and release any tension here or on your shoulders.
  7. Focusing on the point between your eyebrows, begin to bring your attention here and Relax by taking 3 deep connected breathes..
  8. Move this relaxed feeling deep inside your skull (right in the center) making sure the back of your head is relaxed as well.. now your attention is deep inside the center of your skull
  9. Imagine a beautiful setting in Nature, one that you have GOOD memories of being in from your past. Locate yourself in that time and place, where you felt peaceful, free and deeply relaxed.. LOOK around you in your mind’s eye and notice the colors, textures, smells, tastes and any other feeling connected to your senses in this HAPPY PLACE.  Take it all in and place this feeling into a beautiful gem with many facets.. Place this gem in the center of your skull and take a deep breath, embracing this feeling and your Happy Place.
  10. Gently allow your attention to come back to that point between your eyebrows, follow that ribbon of warm liquid light into your heart connecting this feeling and these 2 points (3rd eye & Heart)
  • From the center of your heart feel this powerful sense of connection and well-being go wherever it needs to in your body. Take three deep breathes and relax into this feeling until you can feel it everywhere in your body.
